Our Story
Welcome to our little community!
Guided Ability came to life in 2021 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. At that time, many with intellectual and developmental disabilities were facing deep isolation and a lack of consistent support. We saw a real need for connection, care, and stability, and that is where Guided Ability began.
In the early days, our focus was simple and essential. We made sure people were safe, fed, housed, and supported in caring for their mental and emotional health. This work was about showing up during a difficult moment and doing what needed to be done. As the world slowly began to change, we listened closely to what our community needed next.
Today, Guided Ability is about more than meeting basic needs. We support people in building meaningful relationships, exploring their interests, and growing in ways that feel right for them. We believe everyone deserves support that is respectful, personal, and rooted in trust.
At Guided Ability, care is not one size fits all. We work to create a cozy and welcoming environment where people feel known, valued, and encouraged to be themselves.
